GT WORLD CHALLENGE FINALE ENDS IN VICTORY FOR NEARY

2ND OCTOBER 2023

Sam Neary completed his first season in Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe with a win at the final round driving for Austrian team Grasser Racing (GRT).

The final round of the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup at Circuit de Barcelona saw the number 58 car, driven by an international trio, take 1st place in the Silver Cup in the Grasser Racing Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2.

The team had already secured a podium finish in the first round at Monza and P7 in Super Pole at Spa 24H.

Sam Neary said: "It’s been an exciting year with GRT. Racing in Europe in a Lamborghini as well as in the UK in a GT3 Mercedes has required some intense learning. With the Lamborghini I needed to ensure I mastered not just a brand-new car but new tracks too. It’s been a grounding year and I am now looking to develop plans for 2024 in Europe to support my UK commitments."

At the age of 21, Neary has a wealth of experience in GT racing. He competed in the Intelligent Money British GT Championship alongside Father Richard for a fourth season in 2023 where he has previously celebrated a victory, pole positions and several podiums.

Sam, who started racing at the age of 15, has risen from GT3 novice in 2020 to battling with established factory drivers throughout last season. At the beginning of 2023 he was invited to join Motorsport UK’s Team UK programme and is also a BRDC member.

In 2022 Sam competed in the FIA Motorsport games where he secured a bronze medal with Ian Loggie for Team UK.
